Ski Collection - Fall/Winter '19

With a number of new innovations and category realignments, we knew we needed to go big for the Fall/Winter ‘19 Ski Collection. So we hired rockstar ski photographer Cam McLeod, paired him with Helly athletes Mike Maroney and Kaylin Richardson, and sent them down to our resident Teton guru and mountain guide, Joel Bettner. Warren Miller: Face of Winter

One of the most epic partners that I’ve had the privilege of working with is the legendary Warren Miller franchise. In this particular film called “Face of Winter” I travelled to Red Mountain, BC for a 10-day production about this little known, but incredible ski town.

I worked with pro skiers Dennis Risvoll, Kaylin Richardson, and Simon Hillis to produce a 10-minute Helly Hansen branded segment for the feature film along with 2018 Fall/Winter catalogue material, social media content, and athlete blogs. Fjord Til Fjell Collection - Spring/Summer '19

You owe it to yourself at some point in your life to backpack on the Olympic coast of Washington state. I teamed up with my ole’ pal Kaylin Richardson once again to showcase the new Spring/Summer ‘19 line for Helly Hansen.

Beginning with an arduous hike up to Lake Angeles in the Olympic mountain range and ending with a campfire on Shi Shi beach, I couldn’t have imagined a better location to shoot this athleisure collection aptly titled Fjord Til Fjell. Role: Creative Director & Photographer. Location: Olympic Peninsula, WA.

Ski Collection - Spring/Summer '18

Government Camp, OR seemingly exists outside of time. There are no weekdays or weekends. No nine to fives. It plays an odd game of reverse winter tourism where skiers flock in the summer and leave for the winter. Lifts close at 2pm; that’s all you need to know.

Pro skier Marcus Caston got burned out on skiing here as a kid training day after day to be the best in the world. Then, he’s returned to start his own ski camp focused on what the sport is all about in the first place…fun. It would be a camp unlike any other on Palmer Glacier. It would be called Party Beach. Mountain Collection - Spring/Summer '18

When marketing professional-grade outdoor gear, I believe it is vital to walk the walk. The difference between real performance, and a photo shoot could cost someone dearly in the mountains.

In collaboration with professional skier and two-time Olympian Kaylin Richardson, came a particularly rewarding shoot. All in all, we traversed 35+ miles gaining 10,000+ ft elevation over 4 days in multiple locations around the Central Cascades of Washington to showcase the versatility of the Helly Hansen SS18 Mountain Collection. Role: Creative Director & Photographer. Location: North Cascade Range, WA.

Sail Collection - Spring/Summer '19

Andy Schell & Mia Karlsson come from different corners of the world, but share a passion for exploring it under sail and sharing it with others. As 59 North, they lead offshore sailing expeditions worldwide in their boats Isbjorn, a classic Swan 48, and Ice Bear, a German Frers Swan 59.

Their adventures take them across 10,000 ocean miles per year, saiwling as far south as the Caribbean and as far north as Svalbard.

With a newly refitted Isbjorn, I joined Andy and Mia in Henån and sailed 70 miles with them up the west coast of Sweden to Strömstad. This trip had two objectives - give Isbjorn a proper shakedown before the 2018 season, and generate visual assets for the new HH Spring/Summer 19' product line. Role: Creative Director & Photographer. Location: Skagerrak Strait, Sweden.

Ski Midlayers & Accessories - Fall/Winter '19

They may not be the stars of the show, but midlayers and accessories need love too. With ambassadors Roger Strong and Kaylin Richardson in town for strategy meetings, we took advantage of our locale and knocked out some much needed assets for those important sub-categories that sometimes go overlooked in content creation. The NOOD Regattas

Welcome to the largest regatta series in North America. As title sponsor, Helly Hansen supports a crew of local high-schoolers in each of the five cities of the regatta. The "Junior Crew" gets a chance to compete in the regatta alongside the pros. At each of these stops, it is my pleasure to work with these young athletes to create assets for use on web and social media. Role: Creative Director & Photographer. Location: San Diego, CA.
